HIPP Seminar - 7th July 2009
On the 7th July 2009 participants from the HIPP (health information and
promotion project) held a seminar. The seminar was designed
for community development workers, healthcare professional and NGO
partners who were interested in learning about community-engaged
approaches to health information and promotion.
The seminar also marked the official graduation of participants from
the HIPP course. The participants are now fully trained community peer
health workers (PHWs) and act as a link between health service
providers and the Asylum Seeking community.
The seminar featured presentations by peer health workers involved in
the Galway Refugee Support Group HIPP course and encouraged interactive
discussion from the audience.
