The Galway Refugee Support Group marked World Refugee Day 2010 on Friday 18th by holding a outdoor music event at the museum court yard, Spanish Arch, Galway.
World Refugee Day honours the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homeland under threat of persecution, conflict and violence. The theme for World Refugee Day 2010 was Home.
The sun shone and the crowd was entertained by Toluking and his band. There was also some fabulous food and the Gombeen clowns got up to some mischief which the kids loved.
Hand knitted blankets made by the ladies of Lisbrook house were auctioned off and the proceeds were donated to the Simon Community.
